Surf Mountain was founded in 1984. It was built on the extreme active interest of its founders whose lifestyles were immersed in the leading edge of mountain sports and water sports. Providing technical equipment with the ability to use it, was and still is the original focus for Surf Mountain which was a pure destination store aimed to service and help those trying to become involved with these sports, almost akin to an extension to the specialist clubs coming into existence.

Surf Mountain has grown and has opened other stores during the years, all employing staff who are active and knowledgeable in these evolving sports, with the ability to give advice based upon personal experience both in water sports and mountain sports. A core of dedicated and loyal customers has always supported growth within the stores.

Fashion and image today has grown within the many brands represented and as a result is reflected within the stores, now able to offer the look and image of a complete lifestyle desired by many people who want to wear the look and be seen to shop from the specialist shop, rather than the many emerging fashion shops with no technical knowledge or stock.
